Greenwich Library – Peterson Presents Jazz in July: Brass Queens

July is the perfect time to immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of jazz, and no group captures that spirit quite like the Brass Queens. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, this award-winning, female-led brass band features an all-female horn section and a dynamic sound that blends the pulse of the Big Apple with the soul of the Big Easy.

Rooted in the rich traditions of New Orleans brass music, the Brass Queens bring a fresh, high-energy New York edge to every performance. Their repertoire tells a powerful story through triumphant anthems, joyful celebrations of friendship, and irresistibly danceable tunes that reflect their electrifying stage presence. Touring nationally and internationally, they continue to elevate and expand the visibility of women in the music industry.

Concert begins at 3:00 PM; doors to open at 2:30 PM.

Brass Queens is a Brooklyn-based, female-led brass band featuring all-female horns and a sound rooted in the New Orleans tradition. Since debuting in 2019, they have become a staple of the New York music scene, building a loyal following through street performances and community pop-ups. Known for their high-energy shows and mission to amplify female musicians, the band now tours nationally and internationally, appearing at major festivals including Telluride Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival, MusikFest, and Exit Zero Jazz Festival.

Recent highlights include performances at Carnegie Hall, New York City Pride, and collaborations with David Byrne, as well as appearances on Good Morning America and at iconic venues like Blue Note, Brooklyn Bowl, and The Capitol Theatre. Their signature sound blends New Orleans brass tradition with New York City energy, creating a genre-spanning party that moves from pop to reggaeton and beyond. Brass Queens have released two full-length albums, including their all-original Hot Tub Sessions Vol. I, continuing to expand their reach and sound.
