Food
Looking for family friendly restaurants in the area? Here are a few of our favorites where the staff happily seats you and your children and may throw in some crayons for extra fun.
Boxcar Cantina
Boxcar is one of our favorite places to grab an early dinner. They serve up authentic Northern New Mexican cuisine and they source local and/or organic ingredients whenever possible and always use sustainable raised organic meats. With a great kiddie menu and tasty margaritas, the whole family will be happy!

Mill Street Bar & Table
Mill Street Bar & Table offers a full children’s menu both for lunch and dinner! Kiddos Menu Mill Street Bar & Table is an American restaurant with a seasonally driven menu celebrating the bounty of the northeast land and sea. The kitchen celebrates regional cooking using peak-season ingredients from sustainable sources, including its own Back 40 Farm.
Little Pub
Dare I say, healthy pub fare!?! Little Pub has tasty options for the entire family from a Thanksgiving Turkey Wrap to a gluten free Cobb Salad. The restaurant has become very popular very quickly so try to get there early to get a parking spot and avoid long wait times.
531 E. Putnam Ave, Cos Cob. 203 717 1147
Louie’s
Louie’s is fantastic! We love it so much we celebrated my son’s baptism here with 24 people at one long table. The penne alla vodka and Chicken Louie’s are our personal favorites.
136 River Road Ext, Cos Cob. 203 422 2177
Meli Melo
Casual and convenient. Great crepes, soups, smoothies, salads and sandwiches served within moments of ordering. My daughter usually has a soup or the Texan sandwich. The dessert crepes are a big hit as well. This may not be the best option for picky eaters.
362 Greenwich Ave, Greenwich. 203 629 6153
The Ginger Man
The Ginger Man is a good spot to grab something while running errands or shopping with the kids. The burger and grilled cheese sandwich are just a couple of options on their extensive menu.
64 Greenwich Ave, Greenwich. 203 861 6400
CATERING
If you’re willing to venture out of Greenwich, but close enough that the kids don’t have a hissy fit, a family favorite is Fortina’s in Armonk (also open in Rye Brook!). With a great selection of beer and cocktails for the adults and an attentive and friendly waitstaff serving up delicious pizzas and pastas, we always look forward to dining here with our little ones.
