America’s 250th 5K and Fun Mile
Sign up for the America’s 250th 5K and Fun Mile
There is still time to sign up for the Greenwich Community 5K and Fun Mile event on June 6 that will go through Bruce Park.
This is being put together by the Bruce Museum and the Greenwich United Way to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Things will start from the Bruce with the one-mile run at 8 a.m. and then the 5K (over a certified course) at 8:30 a.m.
I will be taking part in the 5K and I hope to see a lot of others in their sneakers that morning.
Whether you are running, jogging or enjoying a stroll, this is a great way to bring the community together, celebrate America and enjoy the beauty of our beloved Bruce Park. There will be refreshments after the race as well as entertainment and awards.
Plus, race participants will get free access to the Bruce that day. You can register online for it here.
The proceeds will go to help fund Greenwich United Way and Bruce Museum programs that will benefit our local kids.
And while you are near the Bruce Museum on June 6, it is also a big day because tit will be opening the largest exhibition it has ever produced. It is called Six Extinctions and it will feature life size models and skeletons of extinct species like dinosaurs, saber tooth tigers, giant birds and even a giant squid.
More information is online about this exciting new exhibit.
