To say we love food is an understatement. That may be because we can’t remember the last time we sat down to enjoy a meal… to sip a soup slowly enough to taste the ingredients… to chew our salad into small enough pieces so we’re not choking on it… to savor every layer of an entree… or had the pleasure of ordering dessert… Why? Because we’re moms. This month, there is a lovely day dedicated to making us feel treasured. Yes romance is important, but nothing says I love you quite like a good reservation.
Mediterraneo, East End, and Terra are among our favorite restaurants. We frequently dine at Mediterraneo Greenwich so much so that we decided to venture across town lines and visit Mediterraneo Norwalk. Why? Because we had a sitter. In our curiosity to compare the two, we stumbled upon a culinary gem. From the moment you walk into Mediterraneo Norwalk you are unexpectedly greeted by a wall of windows with views of the Norwalk river and a selfie-worthy waterfall. We are immediately drawn to the beautiful setting and take a moment to admire the sweeping booths, modern decor, and fresh-cut flowers.
The dinner. The dinner! The Goat Cheese Blintz kicked off our meal with a bang. The soft cheese, flaky crust was beautifully paired with marinated beets and a crisp white wine from their extensive wine list.
The Butternut Squash and Celery Root Ravioli was fresh and the perfect dish to satisfy your craving for hearty Winter warmth. The Parmesan Crusted Halibut dish was the highlight of our evening. We savored every flaky bite until not a drop of the sauce was left.
And finally, the grand finale trio Tiramisu, Valrhona Chocolate Cake, and Vanilla Sugar Rolled Donuts appeared as if sent from above. From start to finish, our palettes were delighted.
The service is impeccable, Jenna is a fantastic hostess, and Chef Albert has us longing to return, hungry for more. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, or any other day for that matter, than to reserve a table and experience Mediterraneo for yourself.
