Next weekend’s ever-so-popular Sheep Shearing Fest at Stone Barns may be sold out but you can still join on Saturdays and Sundays all season long for hands-on, seasonal activities on the farm. Experience what’s happening on the farm, meet the farmers and greet the season!
Visit Stone Barns from April through November, participate in a variety of seasonal, hands-on activities and drop-in tours, all included with your one-day admission ticket. Weekend tickets sell out. Because every day is different on the farm, exact programming changes each week, but a sample weekend day this spring, summer or fall will include activities like:
Meet the: Sheep: 10:00 – 10:45 am
Farm Activity: Egg Collecting: 10:45 am – 12:00 pm
Farm Activity: Lettuce Planting: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Blue Hill chef joins the Farm Activity 11:30 am-12 pm
Getting Grounded: Adult Walking Tour 11:30 am (45 minutes)
Hands-on Taste: Spring Rolls 1:00 – 1:45 pm
Making the Rounds: Greenhouse Tour 1:15 pm (20 minutes)
Meet the: Sheep: 2:00 – 3:00 pm
Farm Activity: Prep the Field Beds 2:00 – 3:00 pm
Meet the: Compost 2:30 – 3:00 pm
Meet the: Pigs 3:00 – 3:30 pm
Getting Grounded Tour: Adult Walking Tour 4:00 pm (45 minutes)
This is a sample schedule; a full schedule of the day’s programs will be available to you upon entering the farm the day of your visit.
Come ready for a day outdoors. Please come appropriately dressed for the weather and for an active day on the farm. This means closed-toed shoes, water and adequate sun protection. Even when hot out, lightweight pants are more suitable than shorts. Reusable water bottles can be filled up in the Silo Lobby.
