This festive cocktail is the latest in our Thirsty Thursday series with Lindsay Wernert Potter, the Greenwich Mom behind Greenwich Cocktail Week. Patrick Martin, South Bay’s bartender, created this delicious drink that’s perfect for any winter night—on Christmas Eve or in 2022. Cheers!
“Holiday in Jalisco”
1.5 oz. Reposado Tequila
.75 oz. Lemon Juice
.5 oz. Mulling Spice Syrup
Top with Prosecco
Shake all ingredients but the prosecco. Strain into a chilled coupe, top with prosecco.
Garnish with an orange peel.
Mulling Spice Syrup
2 cups of Sugar (I used sugar cane but anything works)
2 cups of water
8 cinnamon sticks
6 cloves
6 whole allspice
3 star anise
Bring all ingredients to a boil. Stir to make sure the sugar blends completely.
Take the pot off the burner. Allow the pot to sit and cool. Strain syrup when cooled off.
