With temperatures starting to inch up and Spring around the corner, we asked Claudette Rothman, owner of Claudette’s in Old Greenwich, for her trend picks. Here are a few of her favorites, plus news from her store.
What are some trends you’re loving for Spring?
Belts: Cinching of the waist is in so belt it, belt it, belt it. Whether it’s pants, dress, blazer shirt/blouse or skirt, find a cute belt (like this one we have in stock) to complete your look. (See photo above.)
Puffy sleeves: Whether it’s shoulder pads or ruffles, exaggerated sleeves are in. This is our Hale Bob dress with ruffled sleeves.
Colors: Fuchsia, yellow and green are three hot colors this season. If you think you can’t wear these colors then accessorize with these hues. Get them in either handbags, shoes or jewelry. This is our Hale Bob dress with yellow and green combo.
Maxis: Think long, long skirts long dresses. These are our new Bindu dresses.
What are you stocking up now for Spring?
We are expanding our swimsuit department. You’ll find more bikinis, one-pieces and lots of coverups that can also be worn as loungewear.
When should people come in for all the spring merchandise?
We’re now in the pre-spring phase but the bulk of our new merchandise will be in stock by end of March. In order to make room for new merchandise we are currently running a big sale, up to 75% off selected winter merchandise. Lots of great deals! We have also added three new brands: Hale Bob, Max & Moi and Ecru for s/s2021. We are very confident that our customers are going to love these brands.
