How do I know if painting my cabinets is a good choice?
Painting your cabinets is a good choice because it is fast and inexpensive compared to a full renovation. There are a lot of options of colors and shades that can give a beautiful look at your kitchen.
Is there a cabinet color you recommend when repainting?
We like the results when our clients go with the off white colors, they don’t fight with furniture, floor and countertops. We usually use white dove for the cabinets, one of the favorite colors for designers and homeowners.
If I want to do something different, how do you suggest using more than one color when repainting cabinets?
When using more than one color, you can do a darker island with lighter cabinets. If you don’t have an island, you might want to do the bottom dark and the top light for a modern look.
How long can I expect a project like this to take?
For a standard size kitchen, it usually takes 3 to 4 days at your kitchen and a couple of days at our shop, where we do the doors and faces of drawers. For your convenience, you don’t need to remove everything from the inside of the cabinets, we protect them with paper and spray the exterior and faces of the cabinets only.
We use a water based Italian paint, and everything is done by spay. The process is cleaning the cabinets to remove all the grease from cooking and then a good sanding using q dust free sander. Next, we apply a coat of primer, one more round of sand and then the wood is ready to receive two top coats of the chosen color.
Oh, and at night, you can use your kitchen normally because we will leave it neat and clean everyday.
