Peanut Gallery | Greenwich Moms

What do you splurge on for your kid’s rooms? For us, it is artwork. We’re not art experts by any means but we know what we like and we have started a little collection here at home. We wanted something colorful and playful for the kids- treasured possessions that they can carry with them into adulthood. We fell in love with Tom Everhart’s paintings after visiting his studio in Venice Beach. They were exactly what we were looking for.

This past Saturday we went to Tom Everhart’s exhibit “I Got Ants In My Pants, And The I Need To Dance Paintings”. Everhart is the only artist licensed to use the Peanuts™ characters in his artwork. His paintings exude a cool vibe simultaneously balanced with a lively explosion of color.

Everhart painted alongside legendary Peanuts © creator Charles Schulz. They enjoyed both a personal friendship and an artistic relationship greatly valued by both. Schulz encouraged Everhart to carry forward his comic strip creations to the fine art form. As a result, Everhart’s Peanuts © related work went on to show at the Louvre in Paris and museum and gallery shows around the world. Tom Everhart was also brought in during the very first few days of the making of the Peanuts movie to share his knowledge of Schulz’s art.
If you have an appreciation for Peanuts/the movie/art/a day trip, check out the AFA Gallery in NYC to see the exhibit before it ends December 1st! http://afanyc.com/tom-everhart-main/
