Whitney: I grew up close by in New Canaan, CT. Therefore, I have always been familiar with Greenwich, but it still feels like a new experience for me. My husband and I have lived here for a little over 4 years (2 in Greenwich and 2 in Old Greenwich). Living in 2 different parts of town has allowed us to get a feel for the breadth of offerings in Greenwich.
We have 2 kids, but some might say we have 2 babies – Bailey, a girl who is 22 months old and Gavin, a boy who is 6 months old. I love shopping at Anna Banana, which is particularly great for special occasions and is within walking distance for me – a huge plus.
I love how much Greenwich has to offer as far as events and town amenities. The Town Party and the Food and Wine Festival are two of my favorites. We are looking forward to returning to visit the reindeer and Santa at McArdles this season and in the summer we love going to see the Bossy Frog Band perform a kids’ concert at Tod’s Point.
My daughter is not a picky eater thankfully. We are able to have her eat whatever we are eating so that we do not have to make too many separate meals and can make great use of leftovers. I think it is important to bring the kids into your routine as much as possible – as long as you are cooking healthy of course. That also means bringing the kids out to eat with us. We love the Little Pub, which is very kid friendly as well as the Back 40 Kitchen, which provides delicious organic meals for everyone. For date nights we love Mill Street Bar and Table!! It’s our new favorite restaurant.
We live very close to Tod’s point, which I think is the most beautiful part of town; therefore, we are there as much as possible. Aside from that we just try to stay active with the kids and take advantage of all the town has to offer. In the winter we love Chelsea Piers; the Splash Zone there is great for all ages.
