Where are you from originally? How long have you lived in New Canaan? How many kids and their age(s)?
I grew up in Southern California (Irvine). My brother and I were born in NYC, but moved out West when we were very young. I’ve grown up visiting relatives on the East Coast and always knew I would live here one day. We moved out to New Canaan 5 years ago with our 10 month old son, Dylan. Within a moment (it seems) our house became very full with the addition of Chase and Riley, now 4 and 2.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you? What are your favorite hobbies?
Something people might be surprised to know about me is that I can knock out a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle in a matter of a few hours. Totally useless talent, but I love it. I did 1,000 piece puzzles before the births of all of my kids. Or at least the first two. Third is a bit foggy. My other favorite hobby, hands down is tennis! I’m simply obsessed and love the women I have met through NCRC.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
YES! My mom. She has given me the gift of calm. No matter how serious (or not serious) the problem is that I call her with, she always manages to make me feel instant relief with her quick wit and humor. I love that she always picks up when I call.
Favorite things to do with your kids? Any special holiday traditions?
My favorite thing to do with my kids…hmmm…always thought my answer would be crafting! But, that seems more stressful than fun lately. I think movie night is my favorite. Sometimes we move the coffee table out of the family room and blow up a queen mattress for the kids and it makes it more of an event. They get really excited. We always have loads of popcorn and candy. All around win.
My favorite holiday tradition was introduced to me by my husband’s family. Every December, we keep a slice of our Christmas tree stump and mark the names of whoever is around that Christmas. We started it together the year we met. It’s amazing how quickly the stumps collect and it’s hard to believe that we started out with just two names.
