Meet Jenna! | Greenwich Moms

JennaI was born in NY but moved to Greenwich on my 10th birthday. After living in Boston for my college years, I had plans of moving to NYC but ended up landing a job in Stamford and returned to Greenwich. I met my husband at work and we have been in Greenwich (in various apartments & houses) ever since.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
I have three incredible girls. Mila is almost six years old, Penelope is three years old and Olivia is seven months old
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

Only those close to me know that I played the violin for years. I started at the age of four and it was a very big part of my life for many years. After hearing stories from my parents, and seeing all of my various sized violins, my oldest decided she wanted to play and has been taking lessons for over a year now. I recently attended her second recital and it is such a joy to see what practice and dedication can create. It is not about what we are doing but how and with what level of intention and integrity.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
OMG yes, my kula. Motherhood would be impossible without a tribe of women around to experience all of the beauty that comes with parenthood as well as the struggle. I would not be where I am without my mother, sister and close girlfriends.
Favorite things to do with your kids?

I love to be outside with my girls. My favorite would have to be late afternoons at the beach during low tide (Spring, Summer & Fall). The girls will happily play in the wet sand and puddles, watch hermit crabs and make pretend gardens for hours.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?
I teach the Lagree Method at Catwalk Fitness in Old Greenwich. I love the workout. It is extremely effective and safe as it is high intensity but low impact. I also love the community that Cathy (the owner) has created. I am a certified Holistic Health Coach and have been teaching various forms of yoga for almost ten years. Check out my website www.jennaleamy.com. Most of my time is spent with my little ones but three mornings each week I have a sitter and you will find me teaching, exercising, food shopping or chatting about any and all of the above.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I believe it is so important to share whatever it is that you love to do. Therefore, community is crucial. I find it very rewarding to share what I know about the physical body and how our physical health effects our mental state and vice versa. I feel lucky to be a member of a community that is receptive as well as curious about our health and well being. The shared goal of a community should be to build each other up, to elevate the wellness of the collective, and I feel I have found that here.
