Meet Jen! | Greenwich Moms

Jen: I am originally from South Florida – a place I still very much love and try to visit as often as possible. I’ve lived in Greenwich for three and a half years, having moved here from Manhattan. I have two wonderful sons, ages three and one.
Because I have two active little boys – one of whom prefers comfort over style – I am constantly on the hunt for the ideal clothing store. I adore the store Jacadi on Greenwich Avenue. They always have a great selection of fashionable clothing and shoes for kids. I also love ZARA Kids. You can find items there that are the perfect balance of comfort and style, without spending too much money. One of my passions is home design and I visit Lillian August in Greenwich any chance I get. They constantly get new products in and no matter what your taste or style, you’ll find something you want to bring home.
This year, my husband and I went to the Greenwich Wine + Food Festival for the first time and loved it. The food tastings were great and the entertainment was awesome. We stayed to watch Little Big Town perform – the intimate atmosphere really made it worthwhile. We also love bringing the kids to the Greenwich Land Trust’s Go Wild! family field day. The weather is usually gorgeous that day and there’s so much for the kids to do. Another must-do is the Junior League’s Touch a Truck event. This is probably my older son’s favorite day of the year!
I recently went to the newly opened Mill Street Bar & Table in Greenwich and thought it was fantastic. We like bringing the boys to Morello or Mediterraneo because the service is excellent and the food is perfect for both adults and children.
My favorite kid-friendly recipe? This is a recipe I usually prepare on Thanksgiving, but it can be made anytime and is usually a hit with kids. I boil or steam sweet potatoes and after mashing them, add a little butter, milk and one beaten egg and then bake at 400 for 20 minutes. Add marshmallows on the top, and bake for another 10 minutes. The kids forget they’re eating vegetables when they see the toasted marshmallows on top.
There are so many fun things to do in Greenwich. Being a Floridian, my most favorite activity to do with the boys is to bring them to Greenwich Point in the summer. Both boys are obsessed with digging, and can spend the entire day playing in the water and sand. Every time I go to the beach there I feel like we’re on vacation.
When I’m not caring for my two awesome boys, I work as a part-time publicist and as a realtor at Halstead Property. I love both industries and find that they complement one another quite nicely. Both require a dedication to client service and a savvy approach to marketing. I truly enjoy being able to help families like ours find, or sell, their home in this wonderful town.
