Meet Janet! | Greenwich Moms

Janet: I was born and raised in Queens, NY where my family still resides. My husband and I moved to Greenwich a little over 2 years ago from New York City with our twins Dean and Mila (currently 3 years old) and the newest member of our family, Leo was born 11 months ago. We initially moved here because my husband, Demetri, started his practice with a local orthopedic group. We really could not have chosen a better town to raise our family. We were drawn to Greenwich for all it has to offer- great schools, wonderful beaches, nice parks, and fantastic shops and restaurants. We currently live in downtown Greenwich within walking distance of Greenwich Avenue, which allows us easy access to everything.
When the weather is nice I love taking a stroll along Greenwich Avenue to get a cup of coffee at CFCF or to have breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien. And, of course, I love to shop! My go to place when it comes to shopping for my kids is Janie & Jack. I just love their clothes. I also like to browse the showrooms at Restoration Hardware. Some of my favorite restaurants for date night are Le Penguin and Harvest, as well as Le Fat Poodle in Old Greenwich. We also enjoy going to Pomodoro in Riverside or Fortina in Rye Brook as a family for Sunday dinner and pizza and often stop at DiMare for some cookies and dessert.
The Greenwich Wine and Food festival is one of my favorite events. This was our second year attending and we really enjoy the food, music and hanging out with friends. It is also a great way to meet local chefs and get introduced to new and different restaurants. Halloween in Greenwich is fantastic and we love going pumpkin picking at Sam Bridge nursery. Obviously, the winter holiday season is a great time here, also. Greenwich has so many family events- Breakfast with Santa, the Junior League Enchanted Forest, and the Holiday stroll, to name a few.
When time permits, I like working out at Equinox, especially the spin classes. I also love to cook. I found a great recipe from Blue Apron that my whole family loves including my son, who is a picky eater. It’s a lentil bolognese with fettuccine. It is healthy and delicious.
I also volunteer and have co-chaired charity events sponsored by Greenwich Hospital. As a stay at home mom and registered nurse, I like to be involved in the community as much as possible and this allows me to give back.
In the short period of time we have lived here we have met so many great people with interesting and varied backgrounds and look forward to meeting many more in the future!
