Meet Dr. Lazar! | Greenwich Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I was born in Ukraine, then moved to the United States in 2003. I came here to study to become an eye doctor.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?
I have one son. His name is Jacob. He is 8 months old.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I love to bake and decorate desserts. I once spent 6 months making macarons, but still haven’t gotten a full proof recipe down. I also play a string instrument that comes from Ukraine and is part of my culture, it’s called a Bandyra.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My husband has been very amazing and supportive. Also, of course my parents. As many of you know it is very difficult to balance business and a parenthood life, however we are working as a team and they always help me out and have my back covered when I need it most.

Favorite things to do with your kids?
I love taking daily walks with my son outside and cannot stop cuddling him, being with him is a blessing.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
Currently, I run my own private business, called Greenwich Eye Care.  After working at the hospital and very busy private practices across the state I realized that in order to provide top quality eye care, the doctor needs to have the ability to spend as much time with the patient as needed. At Greenwich Eye Care, we strive to give our patients the most unique and personalized medical and routine eye care experience on a day-to-day basis.
I love working with children. I put a lot of my energy into educating children, parents and the public on importance of kid’s annual eye exams and improving children’s vision with either glasses or Night Lenses. I try my best to participate in charity events when available and feel very fortunate to be able to give back to my community.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I am relatively new to the community; however, it is becoming my first go-to-place for many daily questions and queries. I enjoy asking and answering questions on greenwichmoms.com and find local moms to be very knowledgeable, talented, and supportive. I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone involved in creating, running, and supporting this website and the community in general.
