Meet Cathy! | Greenwich Moms

Cathy: I moved to Greenwich when I was 3 years old and lived here until I turned 16.  When my husband Will and I got married we ended up back here in Greenwich about 3 years ago, after making a few stops along the way. I love living back in my hometown. I think part of me always knew that I would come back here. I have a brother and two sisters and they still live in the area, which made the decision to head back this way sort of a no brainer. We are all pretty tight and being around family is very important to me.
Will and I have three boys. They are 6, 4 and 17months. There are so many families in town with 3 boys. It’s so much fun!
Shopping for the boys is so easy around here because there are so many great options. Crewcuts clothes for boys are pretty cool and Splendid has really great stuff too. Their stuff is so cozy and comfy! My older boys want to dress more sporty now, so we have a lot of Adidas and Under Armour gear, which we get at Bruce Park Sports and Lester’s in the Rye Ridge.
Restoration Hardware is such a great store and I’m so happy they just opened a Baby and Child on the Ave. It makes buying furniture so much less of a gamble when you can actually see it in person. They have great bed sheets as well. I like to change up our bed sheets every now and again. It’s an easy way to do a slight redecoration to a bedroom.
We love doing different activities with the boys on the weekend. We usually go to Touch a Truck every year hosted by the Junior League. My kids always have a blast! We just went to Greenwich Historical Society’s Frolic at French Farm and it was a really nice family event.
My favorite restaurants in town are Terra, Le Penguin and Thomas Henkelmann at the Homestead.  There are also a lot of new restaurants in town all of a sudden.  The National is a great new spot as well.
I love to cook and try new things for the kids all the time. Although it’s usually a futile effort, as our kids are such creatures of habit! My boys love hibachi and so I recreate the meal at home (minus the cooking on the table and fire volcano part) and they love it! It’s so easy to make. Cut up veggies and any kind of protein you want and sauté in a wok with garlic and soy sauce. They get so excited when it’s “hibachi” night at our house.
I was a teacher before the kids were born and I’d love to do something in the education field once the boys are all in school full time. I’m definitely excited to explore the next chapter of my career!
