Meet Asya! | Greenwich Moms

Asya: I was born in Moscow but grew up in Greenwich and attended high school at Greenwich Academy. When my husband and I got engaged, I moved back to Greenwich in 2015. He also grew up in Greenwich and went to Brunswick, although four years older than me, so moving to Greenwich and raising a family here seemed like a perfect fit.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Nathan Gregory Geller – 4.5 months
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I’m a pretty open book so I don’t think people would be too surprised by much. I love science fiction books and movies – it’s a guilty pleasure.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Both of our families have been amazing since Nathan was born but I have to especially thank my Mother – she has been amazing with helping me navigate motherhood every single day since Nathan was born. I am so lucky to have her in town and close by and someone to talk to me every single day about being a Mom.
Also, my friends who have had children already (like Layla!) have been wonderful at talking me through the challenges of being a first time Mom – I have loved getting all of their advice along the way!
Favorite things to do with your kids?
I have really enjoyed Baby Lap Sit at Greenwich Library and the Itsy Bitsy Playgroup at Temple Sholom. Also loved the Songs for Seeds music class. Nathan and I love going for walks in Bruce Park as well when its nice out. Living downtown has had the huge perk of being able to go to Greenwich Avenue with Nathan as well – we especially love lunch at Granola Bar.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?
I work at Sotheby’s in NYC in the business development department. I am currently on maternity leave but excited to head back in late February and resume working, although I will miss being with Nathan every day.
I also love to help with my husband’s company, Mike’s Organic Delivery – they deliver delicious fresh, local organic produce, meats, cheese, dairy and lots of other unique amazing grocery items to homes in Fairfield and Westchester County.

It is a great balance to have my own corporate career and be able to stay involved in Mike’s own business.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I loved growing up in Greenwich – I received an amazing education from Greenwich Academy which prepared me very well for law school at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and college at Cornell. And the friendships I made growing up here are some of the most important in my life.
