Meet a Mom: OG Baked Bits! | Greenwich Moms

If you haven’t tried the OG Baked Bits cookies, you should! A perfect hostess gift, teacher present or party favor, they’re sweet and salty cookies adorned with sparkly glitter. Made by Old Greenwich Mom Bryn Craven, we know you’ll love them as much as we do.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I’m originally from Scarsdale and my husband is from the DC area. We began our family in New Jersey and five years ago, as our kids got older and community became more important, we looked to relocate from NJ. We settled on Old Greenwich and could not have been more pleased with our choice.

How old are your kids?
Chloe and Sammy, age 14
Brody and Brando, age 11

What’s one thing that surprises people about you?
That I’m a mom of two sets of twins!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My Mom. Raising two sets of twins (along with my helpful husband of course;) has proven challenging since the day the boys arrived and the girls were under three!

Favorite things to do with your kids?
Watch them play sports. My husband played football for Yale and I have to say, we are definitely a family brought together by sports. Watching sports, coaching sports…all of it. Problem is, my kids do not go near me when I am watching. I cheer the loudest and am the most nervous Mama on the field.

Ha! Can you tell us a bit about your business?
I created my first business Double Happiness  (@doublehappiness4) when the girls were born
14 years ago. I used my talent and education in graphic design to design stationery and other kid focused merchandise which tended to mirror the development stage in life my kids life. I designed stationary and storage buckets and as they grew, my design portfolio grew to school accessories like snack and lunch bags and personalized camp merchandise.

This summer I had a health scare which turned out just fine. But long and short, I was laid up ALL summer long. And this amazing Greenwich community of Moms brought dinners and love to our door for weeks. Weeks! To thank them and start to begin to express our gratitude and how touched we were by their kindness, I began to make my famous oatmeal salty chocolate chip cookies and my husband would drop them off as a thank you.

The funny part is that OG Baked Bits, my cookie company, was born because I am a little neurotic about my sweet intake AND I may have dropped one of the original thank you cookie batches on the ground and they broke into pieces or bits! Two problems solved. People can eat less or feel less guilty and I saved the cookies.

Long and short…fast forward two months and I am still maintaining the Double Happiness design business but having so much fun launching my new cookie company! And the local and social media reception I am getting is phenomenal.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
The entire effort has been built with fellow Greenwich Moms! I am a graphic designer (and baker) obviously, so that comes in handy for marketing purposes, but these brilliant local moms have pitched in time, thought and support like I could never have imagined. So grateful for this community of women.
