Any Greenwich Mom is likely familiar with Delamar Hotel Greenwich Harbor. Its restaurant, l’escale, is the perfect spot for a girl’s night out drink al fresco (as well as a go-to date night spot), and the hotel and spa combination makes for a perfect staycation. In the last few years, Delamar Hotels have opened in Southport and West Hartford, as well as West Bay Beach in Traverse City, Michigan. An integral part of Delamar’s success is Jackie Kosiba, this week’s Meet a Mom and the Regional Director of Sales for these four properties. We spoke to Jackie about her busy job, her life as a working mom and her favorite spots in Greenwich and the Simsbury, CT area.
When did you move to Simsbury?
We moved up to Simsbury from Norwalk, CT in June 2017, in order to help with the Grand Opening of Delamar West Hartford in September 2017. My husband Rich and I met while both working in the hotel industry; we have two daughters, Abbie, who is in second grade and Madeleine, who just turned one and is now walking and following her big sister.
What do you love about your job?
I love working for Delamar because every day is different. It’s truly an amazing company that cares about every person, every guest, and every team member. I have been with the Delamar since 2012 and started at our Southport location, I love what I do and love working for this company. I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had over the years and have enjoyed growing along with the brand as we add hotels to our portfolio. My favorite part of each day is supporting my team and their success and hearing how our clients have enjoyed their experiences.
Why is the Delamar such a perfect Greenwich staycation?
It’s such a nice getaway, so close to home. Upon arrival you’re greeted by a valet who helps you with your luggage and you’re offered a glass of bubbly at check-in. You have a big job. Any strategies you use as a working mom?
One day at a time, right? Having a good support system is important, for sure. I have an amazing husband and is always willing to help get kids ready, assist with school pick ups and drop offs. When I’m traveling to Michigan, my mother comes up from Florida to help. We also have made some fabulous friends in Simsbury, one friend brings Abbie to and from girl scout meetings and another friend brings her to and from dance. I’m so grateful for the wonderful friends and family we have!
