What is the inspiration behind your family-owned business?
Room for Paws Pet resort is our answer to the question: “How do we care for our furry family members when we are away from home?”
Our inspiration was our deep concern and worry about leaving our precious pups home when we needed to be away. And then one winter, after a series of snowstorms and ice-damming, we were forced to move out of our home while we waited out the repair process. We proceeded to place our three puppies at a number of facilities and individual home caregivers – all of whom had the best of intentions – but we felt we could create a place where a dream team of professionals would care for all of our furry friends as we would members of our own family, by putting dogs first with love, impeccable care, and FUN activities with a science based approach, in a modern, spacious, and sparkling environment.
We decided to finally take the plunge during Covid – and here we are!
What is your favorite thing about going to work each day?

We provide all of our guests a safe, clean, and fun place to receive training, love, and time with their friends. There is no more testament to the work our team does than seeing the joy we give our guests and their pet parents when they are reunited!
What is your advice for pet parents looking for the perfect home away from home for their pet?
I would recommend that you hold your pet’s vacation resort to the same standard as if any other member of the family was staying there. Is it welcoming? Is it clean and safe? Is this place going to be fun? Do they offer amenities my pup will love? How large will their play group be? Do they offer a Discovery Day so my pup can meet the team and get acclimated before they stay? The dog owners I know spare no effort to make sure that the home they make for their pets is the best it can be – that’s certainly how we are! But if you’re doing that for them at home, make sure that the people you’re entrusting them with when you’re away have the same standards as you do.

Tell us about your pets!
I thought you’d never ask! Logan just turned four and his baby sister Lucy just celebrated her first birthday! Time sure flew!
Logan, a mini sheepadoodle, is the king of every room he enters. His favorite activities are lying on AC vents, jumping into hedges, and sleeping on our front staircase’s landing – so he can be as close to everyone in the house as possible, and doggy daycare at RFP! As much as Logan loves other dogs and people, Lucy the mini labradoodle is his favorite playmate. She is our little lovebug. If you’re on the couch, she’s on your lap. If you’re working at the table, she’s lying at your feet keeping your toes warm. Our family has been so lucky to have great dogs in our life and we are humbled by the number of amazing local families who have shared their precious pups with us and joined our fur family!
