This week our “Meet a Mom” interview is with Jill Rizack and Brooke Russ, the moms behind Blush Waters Design, a new beautiful design studio in Greenwich, specializing in custom wedding invitations and stationery. Along with their business, they have six children between them: Jill has Gabriella (24), Henri (23), Reid (20) and Emmet (18), while Brooke has Nolan (3) and Evelyn (1). We spoke to the duo about their business, life in Greenwich and more.
Why did you decide to base your business in Greenwich?
We chose to open our store in Greenwich because there is such an appreciation here for high quality invitations and personalized stationery design. With several years of experience in the industry, we have so much to offer and we can’t wait to share it with Greenwich.
How do you describe your business?
Blush Waters Design is a bright design studio in the heart of Greenwich on the Avenue. We opened 10/21! We created a space where beauty flows as effortlessly as water. We specialize in custom wedding invitations and stationery that capture our couples’ uniqueness in their best form. We love to say that ‘we make paper beautiful’.
Congrats on your opening! How did you decide to go into this industry?
We believe in the power of the written word and we love finding new ways to capture people’s personality on paper. We are inspired and thrive on having the responsibility to create the first impression for our client’s no matter what occasion they’re celebrating.
Who is your typical client? And dream client?
Our typical client enjoys the design experience, specifically the evolution process that occurs from initial idea to finished product. Our clients love the ability to touch and feel paper options and print techniques.
Our dream client is someone who wants to create something thoughtful and special as they embark on a meaningful moment in their lives.
What trends in stationery are you loving right now?
We love handmade, deckled-edged paper right now featuring beautiful watercolors. Coupled with a modern envelope liner, the amount of dimension this type of invitation suite brings is unparalleled.
We love supporting local businesses…can you please share your favorite places to:
Go to dinner for date night – We love going to Tod’s Point with a picnic dinner and a beautiful sunset.
Go to dinner with kids – Little Pub – always delicious and allows Brooke’s kids to make a bit of mess
Go for moms night out – Harvest is a great spot, it doesn’t hurt that it’s right below us 🙂
Grab coffee – Granola Bar
Go shopping – The Avenue of course, one of our favorites has to be Richard’s but you will often see Brooke in Vineyard Vines.
Go for pampering: We tend to have lunch breaks across from the office at Avenue Nails
Have fun as a family – Bruce Park for Brooke and the kids and since Jill’s are all grown-up she joins in too!
Workout – Brooke loves Orange Theory Fitness; Jill loves walks with her husband.
