Meet a Mom: Alessia Adler of THRIVE Mind and Body! - Greenwich Moms

Can you please tell us a bit about yourself personally?

I’m a proud mom to my daughter, Isabella, who is now 18 and finishing her freshman year at Indiana University where she is majoring in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising,  I was born in Italy and speak Italian and Spanish fluently.   Becoming an empty nester has been such a big chapter for me — it’s what inspired me to pour even more into my passion for helping women and moms thrive in whatever  season of life they are in.  When I’m not working my hobbies are travel, going to concerts, and discovering new eating spots.

Where do you live in Greenwich and what do you love about it?

I’ve lived in Cos Cob for 16 years, moving here with my daughter when she was just 2 years old. What drew me in — and what I still love most — is the strong sense of community and how safe it feels. My daughter was able to walk to Cos Cob School and Central Middle School, which meant so much to us. I also love all the local mom-and-pop shops, the cozy library, and sweet traditions like the Fire Station’s Santa rides during the holidays — it’s all the little things that make Cos Cob feel so special.

Please tell us about THRIVE Mind and Body and what makes it unique?

What makes THRIVE Mind & Body unique is that we bring fitness, stretch therapy, and nutrition coaching right to your home, making it easier for busy moms to take care of themselves. We don’t just focus on workouts — we help you reach your goals for both your body and mind, meeting you where you are and supporting you every step of the way.

How did you come to start THRIVE Mind and Body? What is your professional background?

After spending years in the corporate world, I became an empty nester and knew it was time to follow my true passion — helping people feel their best inside and out. I combined my background in business, fitness, nutrition, and wellness coaching to create THRIVE Mind & Body, making it easier for everyone to prioritize themselves and truly thrive.

What is the best advice to someone starting their own business?

Have a clear passion for what you’re building, stay consistent, and give it time. Be ready for the ups and downs — and don’t take things personally. Guard your personal time, work hard, but always prioritize your own wellness. You can’t pour from an empty cup!

What are some of the biggest changes you have seen in the past 5-10 years in women’s fitness?

Over the past 5–10 years, there’s been a lot of mixed messaging around body positivity, nutrition, and what self-care really means. While it’s great to see wellness getting more attention, I think we still need more honest conversations — especially around mental wellness, the changes your body goes through as you become a mom, and navigating seasons like perimenopause. Our bodies and minds evolve, and it’s so important to support women through every stage.

What are the top reasons that patients come to you to get in better shape?

Most of my clients come to me because they’re tired of feeling stuck — whether it’s low energy, stubborn weight gain, aches and pains, or just feeling disconnected from their bodies. They’re looking for real support, accountability, and a plan they can actually stick to. I help them build consistency in a way that feels manageable, so they can get stronger, healthier, and more confident — both physically and mentally.

How do you balance work and being a parent?

Balancing work and being a parent is never perfect, but I focus on being present wherever I am. I set clear boundaries with my work time, protect personal time with my daughter, and always make space for my own wellness — even if it’s just a few minutes a day. It’s about giving yourself grace and remembering that balance looks different every day.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another parent?

The best advice I received was, “The days are long, but the years go quick.” When my daughter graduated from GHS and left for college, I couldn’t believe how quickly the time had flown. You can’t get that time back — so even on the rough days, with tantrums and chaos, try to find a small way to enjoy the moment. It all goes by faster than you think.

What do you like to do to relax/have fun for yourself and as a family?

Travel and concerts are my favorite ways to relax and have fun! Now that my daughter is 18, I love that we can go out to nice dinners together, explore new places, and enjoy live events as a family. It’s such a special new chapter to share.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’m so grateful to be part of the Greenwich community and to have the chance to do work that truly lights me up. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that it’s never too late to start putting yourself first and thriving in every season of life!
