Meet Kelly! | Greenwich Moms

KELLY: I’m originally from Hopkinton, New Hampshire but my family moved to Guilford, CT shortly after I finished high school. We moved to Greenwich from New York a little over two years ago, right before our first daughter turned one.  We had our second little girl here in Greenwich who is now 18 months old.
Our favorite event in Greenwich so far has been the Go Wild! family field day. My girls loved touching the ducks, bunnies, and seeing the pigs and goats (from afar!) at the petting zoo. My younger daughter even joined in the soccer games which was cute to watch.
If we’re eating out as a family we’ll usually go to Boxcar Cantina or Meli-Melo. Meli-Melo has fresh pressed apple juice and great crepes. Thomas Henkelmann is a favorite spot for special occasions and holidays.
Two of our most frequent and easy dishes are ginger chicken with coconut rice and squash casserole.  The chicken dish is a simple recipe from Tyler Florence’s Start Fresh cookbook. The squash casserole is a Southern family recipe from my husband which is a little indulgent but at least gets the girls some veggies!
We love taking drives at all times of the year both here in CT and the Hudson Valley. One of our recent favorite trips was to Stone Barns Center in Pocantico Hills, NY.
