As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our area, hospitals are in need of supplies as medical workers work overtime to help those who are sick.

Given the situation and this time of social distancing, it’s easy to feel helpless. But, If you’re looking for ways to help essential workers and hospitals gain access to these supplies or just say thank you, there are options!

Make Masks 2020

Make Masks 2020 is a grassroots collective seeking to provide short-term relief by mobilizing sewists, makers and organizers to hand-sew and deliver masks to those affected by mask shortages. Click here to get involved!

Drop Off Supplies

Beginning Monday, you can drop donations of personal protective equipment to a safe, secure location zone at Tully Health Center, 32 Strawberry Hill Court. Volunteers will be there to accept donations Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Accepted items include: disposable face masks, N95 masks (sometimes called respirators), face shields and safety goggles, disposable gowns, disposable gloves (especially non-latex), disposable surgical caps, disposable foot covers, wipes (bleach or antimicrobial), hand sanitizer (at least 60 percent alcohol) and infrared/temporal thermometers.

All items should be in their original, unopened packaging.

 

Greenwich Hospital

Greenwich hospital fundraising, collecting supplies, has on-site specimen collection/testing, and is working very closely with all their community partners and hospitals to be sure they can serve every person who comes to them.

Food For The Front Lines

Food for the Front Lines was founded by former Food Rescue US – Fairfield County Site Director Nicole Straight who saw an opportunity to help CT restaurants while feeding the health care workers at the front lines of this medical crisis. She raised $15K and delivered over 750 meals in under a week. In partnership with CTbites, the Food For The Front Line Go Fund Me was created to continue to fund this mission.
