Opened by Samantha (of Sammy + Nat) and Darcy. Three years ago, Samantha, who worked in branding and marketing at Michael Kors for a number of years, saw the need for quality, everyday clothing for the very young — onesies, pajamas, rompers — and beautiful, practical baby gifts. So, she started a business out of her New York City apartment. She put together a beautiful collection of Pima Cotton essentials and met with early success selling them on their website (www.sammyandnat.com). She started with selling her collection online and to boutiques around the country.
Along the way, Sam met Darcy Callahan, who managed a children’s clothing store in Westport. In April of 2018 Samantha spotted the perfect spot on the main street in Rye, called Darcy, and they got to work. “With her brick-and-mortar retail background and eye for merchandising, I realized I had a business partner. I knew together we would be able to pull it off and we could open a pop-up shop and see what happened”. Samantha and Darcy wanted a fun, bright store with a fresh look. They painted everything white and have a mix of modern and natural fixtures. They let all the collections speak for themselves. The store itself is warm and welcoming, but the best part is you will leave with a perfectly wrapped gift and note card for your next baby shower or birthday party.
They turned Sammy + Nat with Friends around in just 3 weeks. It features Samantha’s collection as well as other brands (their friends) to make it a true boutique shopping experience. The store may have begun life as a pop-up, but it’s here to stay. The ladies just signed their long-term lease and hope to be the gifting destination for Rye and all surrounding towns for many years to come.
