“We are thrilled to see so many Greenwich businesses and individuals participating in this year’s GTP by donating one-of-a-kind — and some once-in-a-lifetime — items to our second annual silent auction,” said GTP Co-President Ray Rivers. “Now, more than ever before, residents can support the GTP by bidding on their local favorites — anything from priceless VIP tickets and tours to flying lessons and ski vacations to daily bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. We encourage everyone to get involved and place a bid and let’s see this party get bigger and stronger every year.”
The ten-day silent auction includes a range of items in a variety of categories. Among the auction items are: trips to Napa Valley, the Caribbean and Florida, as well as New England favorites in Vermont and Rhode Island; VIP tickets to the U.S. Open, New York Giants, New York Yankees, New York Rangers, New York Jets; tickets to tv shows; VIP tickets to see Justin Bieber in concert; box seats at the Metropolitan Opera; tickets to The Nantucket Project; helicopter flying lessons; private tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; boat and yacht excursions; beauty, health and spa services; dinners and parties donated by restaurants, caterers, and wine shops; local and nationally renowned artists and photographers; concierge pediatric care; private music lessons and school tutoring; home veterinary care; car detailing; landscaping, interior design and organizing.
On-site, ticket-holders will have the opportunity to bid on two coveted guitars signed by the Grammy Award-winning GTP headliner Steely Dan, starting at 10 a.m. The winners, who place the highest bids, will be named early evening.
Each year, substantial donations from town residents and local businesses provide the majority of party funding, allowing the General Admission ticket price to stay lower than the actual cost. Thanks to the continued generosity of sponsors and donors, the ticket prices have been reduced to a fraction of what they would have been for such a large event. There will be a GTP Donation Tent on-site during the Party, and organizers encourage all attendees to donate something to keep the GTP sustainable for years to come. Powered by 501 Auctions, the online auction will be open for ten days surrounding the event and will be open to everyone, whether they are ticket holders or not, beginning at 9 a.m., Thursday, May 18 athttp://501auctions.com/gtpauction17. This will enable more people and businesses to participate and donate, bringing the whole community together for one cause. The online auction will end the day after the GTP, on Sunday, May 28 at 6 p.m., so everyone can participate in the celebration all day Saturday.
