Greenwich Small Business Spotlight: Style | Greenwich Moms

This January, Greenwich Moms is renewing its focus on supporting small businesses. In short, we want to use our spotlight to shine a light on the gems right here in Greenwich. Many are owned by fellow moms and all have been dealt challenges by COVID-19.  First up, we’re sharing some of our favorite style destinations in town! Be sure to follow us on Instagram @greenwich_moms so you don’t miss anything.

Katie Fong the Boutique, 60 Lewis Street, Greenwich
Opened: May 2015
The Boutique is best known as a destination for bridal and special occasion shopping, but Katie also designs silk separates such as wide leg crepe pants and silk georgette blouses that can be made in hundreds of colors. “I also offer a custom, made to measure service where I can design something one of a kind or the perfect fitting garment for a customer,” explains Katie. The Boutique also carries jewelry, accessories and their signature face masks (you’ve probably seen them—the ones with the adorable embroidered heart!). “I have always viewed my Boutique as a place for small businesses and entrepreneurs to network, showcase their products and have fun!” says Katie, who hosts trunk shows throughout the year including luxury loungewear, cashmere and fine jewelry. She adds: “My team and I look forward to hosting other fun events once it is safe to do so, such as a flower arrangement class and a calligraphy class.”
Katie’s Favorites: The Luna Top, a silk charmeuse, relaxed fit blouse that pairs easily with leggings for a comfortable Zoom conference look. The Boutique also has stocked gorgeous mask chains by LLF Studio that can be worn as a necklace or wrap bracelet.
Online/Curbside: Yes. You can shop online www.katiefong.com/shop and choose In Store Pick-Up or Local Delivery. They also do curbside and do complimentary gift wrapping for any of your gifting needs.

Dudley-Stephens, 6 West Putnam Ave, Greenwich
Opened: 2015
Dudley-Stephens offers stylish fleece clothing spun from recycled yarn, and 2021 has already started off with an exciting stripes launch and other new styles. They’ve been featured everywhere from Fox Business News to GOOP, and have plenty of fans amongst Greenwich Moms (no surprise since these chic, cozy and easily washable pieces are the perfect go-to for busy moms). Lauren says she loves Greenwich and her fellow small business owners.  “The food, the people…Greenwich is a hugely family friendly town…and all of the new amazing brands and shops opening up on Greenwich Avenue!” explains Lauren.
Lauren’s Favorite:  “Our Palmer Puff Sleeve in Red, exclusive to our shop in Greenwich this Fall/Winter season,” says Lauren.
Online/Curbside: “We have online shopping here, as well as curbside pick-up at our shop in Greenwich, which you can shop at this link for pick-up.  We are also open for in-person shopping Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Any questions, shoot us an email [email protected]!”

Claudette, 177 Sound Beach Ave, Old Greenwich
Opened: 2012
In Claudette Rothman’s shop, customers can find womenswear from high-end designers like Escada, Edward Achour and Eli Tahari as well as mid-priced brands like Sail to Sable, Julie Brown, Southern Tide and Gretchen Scott. “We recently added a few brands for younger adults such as Cistar, Allison NY and Amanda Uprichard,” says Claudette. She also carries accessories (jewelry, handbags and scarves), lingerie and gift items (candles, coffee table books and more). Online, you can shop for home furnishings and accessories for men and kids; Claudette says this part of her business is a priority and growing quickly. Greenwich has been instrumental to her growth, particularly in the past year. “This town has a great sense of community; the amount of love and support residents poured out to small businesses in order for us to keep our doors open since March of last year is just priceless,” shares Claudette.
Claudette’s Favorite: Some of Claudette’s customer’s favorite items are neoprene bags, ladder fur scarves from Belle Fare and Chanel coffee table books.
Online/Curbside: “We are open in store Monday-Saturday 10:30-5:00, with private appointments available before and after hours.  But online we are 24×7—just go to www.claudettestyles.com. We ship anywhere in the US for a flat shipping fee of $14.00.  Call us for international shipping rate,” says Claudette, who adds they offer FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, and telephone shopping with curbside pickup. Don’t miss their store-wide sale starting this week!

Lily Shoes and Accessories, 250 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich
Opened: 2016
Walk into Lily in Old Greenwich, and you will find a wide variety of shoes and accessories. “We source many of our brands in Europe so that our customers know they won’t be wearing the same things as everyone else,” notes owner Audrey Aguilar, who has been a Greenwich resident for 22 years.  “While we always emphasize trends and style, we realize that quality and price are also critical. Our hope is that our customers will feel that they are getting footwear that they will love for years to come. And maybe a handbag, scarf or some fun jewelry to go with it!” she adds.
Audrey’s Favorite: “ Audrey says she would choose the Penelope Chilvers tall tassel boot. “It’s a style that has been in existence for at least 10 years. Completely indestructible, comfortable, it’s the kind of boot that gets better the more you wear it. I’ve had mine for 3 years and wear them constantly. They are also a favorite of Kate Middleton!” she notes.
Online/Curbside: Lily doesn’t have online shopping but does virtual appointments and delivery.
