
We cannot believe it is already August! While this summer has been a blast, with many camps ending soon and Greenwich Public Schools not starting classes until September 1, there is still plenty of time to soak up and ENJOY this last month of summer.
We want to help you have as much fun as possible, and keep your little ones busy and engaged throughout the month! That’s why we’ve put together the August 2022 Greenwich Bucket List! Scroll down for a list of our favorite activities to do in Greenwich and the surrounding towns this month to keep everyone smiling daily and to help your family build amazing memories of Summer 2022 – whether you want to go somewhere local for a couple of hours, or take a day trip, we have you covered!
- Take a Ferry for a Day Trip to Island Beach
- Go for a hike at Babcock Preserve, Montgomery Pinetum, or Pomerance Park
- Head to Tod’s Point for a Beach Day and visit the Bruce Museum Seaside Center for a touch tank, arts and crafts and many more adventures with Coastal Critters
- Head to the Greenwich Audubon for a Hike or one of their outdoor programs
- Play in the splash pad or go swimming at the pool at Byram Park
- Visit one of the museums offering free admission through CT Summer at the Museum
- Head to The Big Picture in Riverside to DIY your own arts and crafts
- Watch an Outdoor Movie at Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center on August 1, Perrot Library on August 20, or Cos Cob Library on August 29
- Attend the St. Roch’s Feast Carnival 2022 on August 10, 11, 12 & 13
- Explore the Greenwich Historical Society Tavern Market or Old Greenwich Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays or Greenwich Farmer’s Market on Saturdays
- Enjoy the Music at Free Music Fridays at Greenwich Commons, Summer Concert Series, and Music on the Great Lawn
- On a hot day, head to RPM in Stamford for Bowling or the Arcade
- Visit the Stamford Nature Center and see the animals or check our one of their Drive In Movies
- Visit the Flutter Zone at the Maritime Aquarium
- Visit the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport – which is also free through the CT Museum Program
- Head to the Dinosaur Safari at the Bronx Zoo
- Check out the Stepping Stones Museum courtyard and enjoy a special show
- Participate in a story time at one of the Greenwich Libraries
- Visit the Turtles at Binney Park and stop by the playground
- Splash and explore at the Dinosaur Place in Montville, CT with a 60 acre outdoor theme park with over 50 life sized dinosaurs, a Splash Pad, T-Rex Tower and more
- Play mini golf at Norwalk Cove Mini Golf or Saxon Woods Mini Golf in White Plains
- Take a ride on the rollercoasters at Rye Playland
- Explore the many rides and attractions at Legoland in Goshen, NY, or stay overnight at the Lego Hotel
- Head to Lake Compounce for some water park fun!
- Take a Day Trip to Mystic, CT and visit the Aquarium and Mystic Pizza
- Spend an afternoon on the Long Island Sound
- Drop-in for an activity at Chelsea Piers
