We sat down with Kathy Chattoraj to further discuss her fantastic after-school art program, Future Picassos. Kathy is a professional painter and an inspiring Greenwich Mom. Using her passion for painting and her knowledge of the developmental benefits of introducing art to children, including motor skills, language development, and decision making, Kathy established a number of programs in numerous schools across Fairfield County. “Especially today with technology all around us, children need art in their lives for so many important life lessons. It teaches them to fully concentrate, good eye/hand coordination and a real respect for the process of creation.” Future Picassos is refreshing addition to the after-school sports and music programs. This extremely popular program inspires kids to discover their own artistic abilities and have fun doing it. “When I see the excitement and dedication of my students for their work, I know my work has a purpose, and that is what I set out to do” -Kathy.
