National Gun Violence Awareness Day

Residents are invited to Town Hall on June 5 to mark the annual observance of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

The event will be in the Town Hall Meeting Room on June 5 starting at 1 p.m. There will be some speakers and I will present a proclamation with the stark facts that every day more than 120 people in the United States are killed with guns and more than 200 are shot and wounded and that firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens in the U.S.

We have so many law-abiding, responsible gun owners in Town and throughout Connecticut. No one wants to do anything to impact their rights. But we do all have to work together to promote gun safety and awareness and stand against gun violence.
