Garden Field Trip to Litchfield County: Hollister House & Brush Hill Gardens

Join us for a full-day field trip to the scenic town of Washington, Connecticut, where we’ll explore two exceptional gardens in the heart of Litchfield County. We’ll depart GBC at 8:30 AM by van and arrive at Hollister House Garden for a morning visit. A celebrated English-style garden, Hollister House blends classic structure with lush, informal plantings and generous seasonal abundance.
Around midday, we’ll travel to Brush Hill Gardens, a stunning 10-acre private garden cultivated over more than 40 years. Enjoy a leisurely boxed lunch from The Pantry on the garden’s beautiful terrace, followed by time to explore Brush Hill’s diverse gardens — including a formal flower border, rose garden, vegetable garden, Serpentine Garden with folly, and a woodland walk with cascading pools.
This special day offers a rare opportunity to visit one of Connecticut’s great public gardens and an extraordinary private landscape — perfect for garden lovers, designers, and anyone inspired by beauty in bloom.
Lunch options on registration page. We’ll return to GBC by approximately 4:30 PM. Please refrain from making plans immediately after the field trip to allow for unforeseen traffic or delays.
