Chabad of Greenwich to Celebrate Its 20th Year and Honor Community Leaders at Upcoming Gala Benefit | Greenwich Moms

Chabad of Greenwich will hold its twentieth annual gala benefit on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich. All proceeds will go to Chabad of Greenwich’s Annual Fund, which benefits all of its community programming.
“We’ve had tremendous growth in Greenwich’s Chabad community over the past twenty years,” remarked Chabad Rabbi Yossi Deren. “We owe this to the men and women who have given their time and resources to make things happen at Chabad. We cordially invite all parents, grandparents, preschool alumni, teachers, staff, rabbis, campers, counselors, and the greater Jewish community to join us at this exciting event.”
Chabad of Greenwich now offers a synagogue, a preschool, a Hebrew school, adult education classes, a summer camp, and year-round opportunities to celebrate, learn, volunteer, and socialize with a warm, thriving community. At this year’s Gala, Chabad will pay tribute to five members of its community in particular: Dassi and Noah Yechiely (Guests of Honor), Maira and Daniel Pechman (Lamplighter Award), and Lianne Yaacoby (Teen of the Year). Dassi and Noah Yechiely have taken a passionate interest in enhancing the Jewish education of children in Greenwich, and Chabad has benefited greatly from their efforts to establish and promote programming for young families. Maira and Daniel Pechman have made a world of difference to Chabad by donating countless hours of their professional expertise to maintaining Chabad’s fiscal affairs, and perfecting its programs. Lianne Yaacoby, a Greenwich teen and senior at the Yeshiva in Holliswood, NY, has invested much of her time serving as a leader in Chabad and Camp Gan Israel programs, and always with a compassion that has endeared her to both young and old.
Tamarack Country Club is located at 55 Locust Road in Greenwich. The Gala will begin at 6:30PM with cocktails, dinner, and a silent auction, followed at 8PM with a musical performance by the renowned a cappella group The Maccabeats, and a tribute to honorees.
