Bridges Summer School

Eagle Hill School Summer Program
The Eagle Hill Summer Programs – Academic (ages 5 – 12), Afternoon Activities (ages 5 – 12), and Middle School Workshop (grades 6 – 9) – are educational extensions of the philosophy and strategies for learning used in the regular program. Learning is multi- sensory, students are grouped according to skills rather than grade level, and there is a specific focus on finding innovative methods to encourage learning. The Dept. of Parks and Recreation will be offering a wide variety of camps to meet the needs and interest of all children in Greenwich. We will be offering Kamp Kairphree for children 5 – 12 yrs, Greenwich Adventurers for children 8 – 15 yrs, Art and Music Camp for children in grades 3 – 8, and Skatepark camps and clinics for children 6 – 14 yrs old. Also summer swim lessons, and our special soccer with Aldwin camps will be available.

Our tennis sports camp is primarily tennis but also includes indoor basketball and soccer. The camp encourages development of tennis skills including ball control, movement and positioning. Program follows USTA QuickStart Tennis guidelines using slower lighter balls, smaller racquets, and shorter court size tailored to the age/size of the child. Format designed to help children find success from their very first swing! We offer tennis only camp for intermediate/advanced players.

A five day Art Camp for children ages: 6 – 8 & 9 – 12, June 27- July 1

Jedi Camp at Kempo Academy
Jedi Camp is a half day of action-packed training for campers from Ages 4 and up who want to learn the skills they need to become a true Jedi! Activities such as Advanced Jedi Dodgeball, karate class, obstacle courses, lightsaber training and more lead to an epic lightsaber battle at the end of the week. Camp runs from 9 am – 1 pm each day. Sessions are one week in length. You can book as many as you’d like. Campers should come in comfortable clothes with a lunch, snack and plenty of water.
Creative Movement, Dance, Music, Art, and Nature Camp June 7-August 9, ages 1-3 years with Parent or Caregiver. Older siblings up to age 5 welcome. Classes held at Audubon Greenwich. Dance, song, art, outdoor circle, hands on nature museum exploration, and nature walks to visit the butterfly garden, frog pond, and turtles.

OGRCC MKS Pro Soccer Camp
Together with OGRCC partner Mickey Kydes (Mickey Kydes Soccer MKS), we offer a week-long Pro Soccer camp for children aged 4 to 12yrs. The focus is on creative play and development. Think, Act and Be Creative. This camp is an excellent pre-season program designed to enhance your soccer skills before fall leagues commence. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.
OGRCC is offering a summer rugby camp to allow players the opportunity to continue developing their rugby skills and intuition year round. We will introduce fundamental rugby skills, as well as implementing rugby ethics on and off the pitch. Players will receive a shirt and a bag that they can bring with them to every practice. Staff includes seasoned rugby players that have played at OGRCC, Greenwich High School, All Americans and players with experience abroad and at the collegiate level.
Budding artists will learn to draw and paint and become acquainted with the master artists. This program culminates in an “Artists’ Opening” for friends and family. Four classes, two hours each from Monday to Thursday (except week of July 4th when it runs Tuesday to Friday) at the Eastern Civic Center Upper Lounge and patio. Instructors are from the Art Lab. All supplies included except canvases. Ages 6 and up welcome.
OGRCC Sandpipers Beach Camp
Join our beach adventure at Greenwich Point! Sandpipers Camp, licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health Services, offers arts, games, music, swimming, an expedition to Island Beach, and exploration the natural beauty of coastal habitats. This year we will be integrating the activities in sessions based on the values of sportsmanship, respectfulness, honesty and commitment. Each child receives a t-shirt and an outdoor experience they will never forget. Ages 3yrs to 10yr olds. Camp days are Monday through Thursday, 9:30am to 2:30pm. Friday is reserved for a rain dates. This camp includes instruction on the forehand, backhand, serve and volley. Each participant will learn a different stroke daily. There is also an optional cross-training component to this camp to facilitate coordination as well as improve endurance. Games such as soccer and kickball will be played. Children will receive a minimum of 2 hours of on-court instruction each day. Children should bring a small nut-free snack each day. Classes are Monday through Thursday with rain days on Fridays at the Eastern Civic Center Tennis Courts

The YWCA offers 3 fabulous Summer Camp experiences. There is a wonderful, 2-session Preschool Camp for girls and boys 15 months – 5 years old (call ext. 221) or the very popular, 40 year old Camp Ta-Yi-To offering 2, 4-week sessions for girls and boys K – 5 grade (call ext. 251) and the excellent Girls Circle Camp that builds the confidence of 10 – 12 year olds (call ext. 176). The 6.5 acre campus has two Kompan Structure Playgrounds, a Sand Play Area, an indoor pool and Greenwich’s only Water Park.
