B*CURED MISSION
End brain cancer by raising awareness and funding innovative research to cure this terminal cancer.
WHO ARE WE
B*CURED is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) based in Greenwich, CT that funds vital brain cancer research. We exist because many of us lost a parent, a spouse, or a beloved friend to brain cancer. Over the last 40 years, most cancer prognoses have had positive changes, but not brain cancer. Every day 550 people in the US will be diagnosed with a brain tumor and in 2016, brain cancer surpassed leukemia as the number one cancer-related death in children and adolescents under the age of 20.
B*CURED provides grants to innovative scientific research at leading medical institutions like Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Yale, Columbia, Mass General, Cleveland Clinic and more. We have proudly raised over $2.5 million awarding 33 grants for brain cancer research.
In addition to our annual spring fundraiser, B*CURED is involved with monumental athletic endeavors to drive awareness and raise money for the cause. B*CURED has teams annually participate in The TCS New York City Marathon and The TD 5-Boro Bike Tour in New York. Motivated individuals also participate in athletic events across the country to further our mission in honor or memory of loved ones.
THE ANNUAL SPRING FUNDRAISER
B*CURED’s annual fundraiser is one of the most memorable charity events of the Fairfield County spring calendar. Supporters check their ball gowns for jeans and jerseys to party the night away at a fun, laid back event. B*CURED has partnered with the brand-new climbing gym Beta Climbing & Fitness to host the 2019 benefit, aptly titling the party B*CURED on the Rocks!
Beta’s 6,500 SF of 15’ bouldering rock walls will serve as the backdrop to our private party, featuring a show by professional climbers. Like each year, guests will find a variety of sporty activities and games to play as well as the wildly popular silent auction to bid on. Watson’s Catering will serve fantastic foods and a full bar with curated cocktails. And DJ April Larken will “raise the roof” on the dance floor.
All money raised from ticket sales, sponsorship and the silent auction will go directly to fund brain cancer research.
