LiveGirlTalk is a facilitated discussion group that creates a BRAVE SPACE for girls. The small group meets weekly with a teacher/mentor to share concerns and interests. The curriculum teaches girls how to be leaders, building their social emotional intelligence and self-esteem. Why is this important? Now more than ever, the need for girl empowerment and preparing the next generation of female leaders is clear and urgent. Research shows that 7 in 10 girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way and only 4% of Connecticut teen girls feel comfortable talking to their parents, teachers, or counselors when they feel anxious or depressed.
