Meet Colby! | Greenwich Moms

Colby: I was born in Darien, CT. Being the youngest of five, by that time, my parents were ready to move and try out new towns. I  spent most of my childhood in Palm Beach, FL (amongst other places) before we finally returned to the area and settled in Pound ridge, NY for the end of my middle school and high school years at Sacred Heart Greenwich! My husband and I moved to Old Greenwich about three years ago. Before that we rented a condo in Byram.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Seton is 4 and Ellie is 3. They are both girls, 10 1/2 months apart! It’s great having a built in best friend 🙂
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
Because we moved so much, I went to 7 different schools by the time I reached 7th grade!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Without my mom I would be a basket case! And my first new mothers group that I joined after I had Seton at Greenwich hospital in 2012. I bounced every single silly question that popped into my head off of them! We still try to keep in touch as much as possible as the families expand. It’s so important to have friends going through the same thing at the same time. Also, my husband’s calm demeanor completely balances out my ability to over think every little thing that happens to the girls. It definitely takes a village!
Favorite things to do with your kids?
We love reading books and spending time outdoors. We are definitely obsessed with the beach and can be found there most any day that it is remotely warm! We also love taking our two dogs for walks.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I am a member of the alumni board at Sacred Heart in Greenwich and it has been a great way to get back in touch with old friends and colleagues from the school that I hold so dear to my heart!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
One of the reasons we chose to live in old Greenwich was its “small town” feel. The fact that it is really part of a bigger city makes it even better.  We wanted to raise our children in an environment that promotes love of community as well as provides all of us with so many options. It’s wonderful having friends from all of the different sections of Greenwich, it definitely makes you feel like part of a thriving and exciting community!
