Meet Jacqueline! | Greenwich Moms

Jacqueline: I grew up in Stamford, and moved to Greenwich about 7 years ago after living in Manhattan and Brooklyn (where my first and second kids were born, respectively).
I have three children: A 16-year-old daughter named Charlotte, an almost 12-year-old son named Julian, and an almost 3-year-old son named Barrett.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
While I’ve been a writer professional writer for the past 15 years, I started out as an actor – I majored in drama at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. I was actually on the set of a horror movie when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I’d love to thank my husband, of course, who is an amazing stepfather to my two older kids and an incredibly loving father to my youngest. I also have a great relationship with my ex-husband, who’s a wonderful dad. And my mom, who’s always there when I need help with absolutely anything – my kids adore her!
Favorite things to do with your kids?
My daughter is a huge fan of live theatre, so I love taking her to Broadway shows — we recently saw “Dear Evan Hansen,” which was brilliant! My middle son is a gifted musician, and watching him play with his band (at events like the Pow Wow in Mianus) is always a huge thrill. We all love taking my little one for walks through the Pinetum in Cos Cob, or around Tod’s Point.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

A few years ago, I published a baby food cookbook called “Fast & Fresh Baby Food Cookbook: 120 Ridiculously Simple and Naturally Wholesome Baby Food Recipes.” It was so well received that I was inspired to start teaching in-home classes to moms interested in learning how to make their own baby food. Like so many things about new motherhood, feeding your baby can seem completely overwhelming. My goal is to help moms feel comfortable, have fun, and realize that you don’t have to be a skilled chef to make baby food that’s so much better than what you can buy at the store.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
If there’s one thing all the moms I’ve worked with in this area have in common, it’s that they all want the very best for their kids – so word of mouth has been crucial!
