About the project, Still Life with Books! During this two-hour gouache painting class, students will paint a still life from a stack of books. Through observing and painting their still-life, students will become familiar with gouache paint and learn basic principles of perspective, scale, composition, and relational colors.
About the Instructor: Riley Strom is a painter originally from Los Angeles, currently working in Brooklyn, N.Y. She earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence in 2013 where she studied painting and philosophy. She co-founded and ran the contemporary art gallery, 99 Cent Plus Gallery from 2013-2016 in Brooklyn.
