Triggered: How Self-Compassion Teaches Us to Respond Rather Than React @Perrot Library

May 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us on Monday, May 13, at 7 pm, in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, when Dr. Nancy Boksenbaum presents “Triggered: How Self-Compassion Teaches Us to Respond Rather Than React.” This program is offered in recognition of May Is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The workshop will help participants identify the different experiential components of being triggered: cognitive, physical and emotional.  Participants will learn how to use mindfulness techniques to press pause on self-judgment and cultivate greater self-compassion–the necessary ingredient to find freedom out of difficult moments.

Dr. Nancy is a clinical psychologist, relational psychoanalyst, and mindfulness/meditation teacher. A resident of Old Greenwich, Dr. Nancy has a private practice in Stamford, Connecticut, where she works with children, adolescents and their parents, individual adults, and couples. Dr. Nancy leads mindfulness meditation seminars in the workplace, home, and community.

Dr. Nancy is a member of the American Psychological Association, Connecticut Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, and the McLean Meditation Institute.

You can follow Dr. Nancy for Daily Mindful Moments on Instagram @withdrnancy_.
