Become a community scientist and help count birds in your neighborhood or on a count team for our annual Summer Bird Count!
Held on two days in mid-June, the scope of the Summer Bird Count is similar to the Christmas Bird Count in its count circle extent covering Greenwich, Stamford, Darien and parts of Westchester county NY. Not only does it provide a good excuse to spend a day birding in warm weather, but it is also a very important way for researchers to learn important information about the locations of breeding birds.
If you would like to join in counting efforts at the Greenwich Audubon Center on Saturday, June 12th contact Ryan MacLean at email@example.com. Counting will begin at 6 a.m.
Audubon Center in Greenwich is a vibrant nature education center located at the main 285-acre Audubon sanctuary in Greenwich. We are a part of the Audubon Connecticut state office of the National Audubon Society and Atlantic Flyway, and steward a total of seven sanctuaries in the Greenwich area. Visitors are welcome to enjoy our miles of trails, nature programs, conservation-themed events, and center’s nature store throughout the year.
We support a diverse and inclusive environment, and welcome individuals of all races, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, and perspectives. We work with families to modify programs for accessibility where possible.
