Greenwich Land Trust – Propagating Native Shrubs from Cuttings

June 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Thursday, June 27 | 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Join Dan Brubaker, GLT’s Conservation Director, to learn how to propagate some of our native shrub species from cuttings.

We’ll talk about the benefits and downsides to using cuttings instead of growing plants from seed, and take a walk around GLT’s Mueller preserve to learn how to take cuttings. We will also cover different propagation techniques, and what species are easiest to use. Cuttings from several native woody species will be provided, as well as any soil and pots needed, although attendees are encouraged to bring reused containers or pots from home. Attendees will be able to take their cuttings home at the end of the program.
