Wednesday, October 9 | 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
This workshop is part of GLT’s Native Plant Series and will teach participants the process of collecting seeds from native wildflowers for future propagation.
We’ll cover the best time to collect seeds, as well as how to process and store them for future use. The workshop will start with a walk-through at GLT’s native meadow to collect seeds from species that are ripe.
We’ll discuss how to clean the seeds and the best way to store them. Paper bags will be provided for collection, as well as tools for cleaning, and paper envelopes for seed storage.
This workshop will be followed by a second program in November where we will discuss seed sowing and overwintering. Additionally, a final program on transplanting will be held in the spring.
Space is limited to 20. Pre-registration is required. Location: Mueller Preserve, 370 Round Hill Road
