In this workshop style class, explore a variety of gorgeous garden plants that offer both style and function with a range of ecological benefits. Learn the important elements of site analysis to identify plants that will thrive in certain conditions and design tips to integrate them flawlessly into your garden. There will be a lecture portion and a hands-on design workshop. You will walk away with an actionable plan to improve your garden, and the environment, with native plants.

Emily Hammond is a garden designer, horticulturalist, and ardent environmentalist. Emily received a certification in Horticulture from the New York Botanical Gardens, focused on Sustainable Garden Design. She owns and operates Fairfield County based Amsonia Design, LLC. As a designer, she paints with a palette of native and beloved ornamental plants to create alluring outdoor spaces that delight the senses.
As an environmentalist, she implements practices that benefit local ecology and maximizes the use of on-site resources. With a depth of knowledge in soil health and native plants, gardens by Amsonia Design hum with life, supporting a diverse number of pollinator species and contributes to the health of local ecosystems.
