Come celebrate the incredible form and detail of the dahlia flower by learning how to draw this bloom with botanical artist and teacher, Jeanne Reiner. Jeanne will walk you through the penwork and coloration using micron pens and colored pencils or watercolors. Both the beginner or more experienced artist will develop their sketching skills during this class and emerge with a set of various dahlia studies that you can continue to develop during dahlia season and beyond.
After a successful career in corporate art direction and graphic design, Jeanne moved to Connecticut in 2002 and began a career in fine art and founded the Tri-State Botanical Artists of New York Botanical Garden where she is a botanical art instructor. She is currently serving as a board member of the American Society of Botanical Artists. She has been named, in 2021, a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists in the United Kingdom. She is also a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, New England Society of Botanical Artists, Greenwich Art Society, and on the Artist Registry of the Filoli Gardens in Woodside, CA. and a council member of the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT.
This event is presented in proud partnership with the New York Botanical Garden.
