February 1st Discussion and Book Signing with William Bryant Logan at Perrot Library
Old Greenwich – On Wednesday, February 1st at 7pm, join event co-sponsors, Perrot Memorial Library, Greenwich Tree Conservancy, Greenwich Land Trust and Greenwich Grown, for a book discussion and signing with Author, NYBG Instructor, and Arborist William Bryant Logan. The event will begin at 7pm in the Perrot Youth Services Program Room with wine and cheese with the program beginning promptly at 7:30pm. Bill’s lecture will include topics from his recent books, Oak and Spout Lands. The discussion will be followed by a book signing with books available for sale by Athena Books.
William Bryant Logan is the author of Sprout Lands, Oak, Air and Dirt, the last of which was made into an award-winning documentary. He is on the faculty of the New York Botanical Garden. He has spent the last three decades working in trees. He is a certified arborist, and founder and president of Urban Arborists, Inc., a Brooklyn-based tree company.
Bill has won numerous Quill and Trowel Awards from the Garden Writers of America, and was a contributing editor to House Beautiful, House and Garden, and Garden Design magazines, as well as a regular garden writer for the New York Times. He won a 2012 Senior Scholar Award from the New York State chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), as well as a True Professional of Arboriculture award from the international ISA. He also won an NEH grant to translate Calderón de la Barca and has published many translations from the Spanish, including the work of García Lorca, Ramón del Valle Inclán, and Calderón.

Founded in 1904, Perrot Memorial Library is located in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, and is a private, 501(c)(3) institution, owned by the Perrot Library Association and affiliated (sharing a catalog) with the larger Greenwich Library system. The Library located on Sound Beach Avenue includes a children’s wing, a selection of 28,000 children’s books, over 29,000 adult books, with several different collections ranging from CDs and DVDs/Blu-Rays to periodicals. The main library also offers meeting space, public computers and WiFi. Youth Services and Adult Services host dozens of free programs throughout the year for Perrot members and the local community.
