Curiosity Concerts Announces Season 4 | Greenwich Moms

Curiosity Concerts will be kicking off the 2016-2017 season of free family concerts at Greenwich “Playing For Change Day” on September 24.
After three sold-out seasons of free family concerts featuring world-class chamber ensembles in the Greenwich area, Curiosity Concerts’ fourth season promises to be the best yet.
The just-announced 2016-2017 Curiosity Concerts season will feature world-renowned ensembles such as the American Brass Quintet, Ethos Percussion, Duo Scorpio, and the Anat Cohen Quartet, as well as Connecticut favorites Karim Nagi, Jonathan Yates, and Argus Quartet. Three of these concerts are presented in partnership with Greenwich Library’s Ashforth Children’s Concert Series.
The season opener on September 24, 2016 will feature the Atacama Ensemble, another Connecticut-based group exploring Latin American classical and folk music. This concert is part of the community celebration “Playing for Change Day” at Western Middle School in Greenwich (Sept. 24, 2-5pm). “Playing for Change Day” is a worldwide event promoting global music education.
In addition to the Atacama Ensemble concert, at “Playing for Change Day” families can attend a concert by the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, music education workshops, and student recitals. Workshop highlights include a Young People’s Drum Circle presented by Music Together of Fairfield County, and a parents workshop called “Practice Revolution,” presented by Heather Watson of the Greenwich Suzuki Academy. All concerts and programs will be free and open to the public but the Atacama Ensemble concert requires advance registration (atwww.CuriosityConcerts.org).
