Meet Krista! | Greenwich Moms

Krista: I’m a Greenwich native, born in 1981. We have Ella (5 in July), Josie (2) and a third little lady on the way in October.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I’m an identical twin. Our parents didn’t know there were two of us until my mom delivered us two months early.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My amazing mom and mother-in-law. My mom, Sue, was a long time teacher in town until she retired when our eldest was born. She has such patience and grace in all that she does.   I’ve known my mother-in-law since I started dating my husband, Mike, when I was 18. She is such an inspiration and has shown such love and support to her entire family, including 6 grandkids (and growing!)
Favorite things to do with your kids?
Visiting Daddy at Ada’s Kitchen + Coffee, painting/art, dancing, spending time with friends, going for walks, Tod’s and visiting our Cape house in the summer.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?
I work full time in Deloitte’s Market Development organization and have been with the firm for over 6 years (previously worked at a marketing agency). In my free time, I’m helping my husband to grow and expand his business:-)
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Very much so. I started dancing at the local Allegra Dance Studio when I was 6. It taught be commitment, discipline, and how important it is to take care of myself and my body. I still get together with some of my very good friends every once in a while to dance and perform. I still love it so much!
My family has a lot of history in this town as well. My father’s family business, J. Catalano & Sons, was established by my great grandfather when he settled from Italy. On my husband’s side, his grandparents and mother settled in the 1960s from Italy and started a family flooring business as well.
This town is also so important to us because my husband and I met at Western Middle School and started dating when we were Seniors at GHS. Now, having a local business in town has been incredible. We have continued our family’s entrepreneurial legacy. We feel so fortunate!
