Roberta Roller Rabbit chose the very talented Greenwich mom, Kasia, as their artist for this year’s Art to the Avenue 2017. To kick off the event, RRR is organizing an opening reception on May 4th from 5:30pm – 8pm at their Greenwich Avenue store. Kasia: I am originally from Poland but moved to USA from London, England. I lived there for five years and my oldest daughter was born in London.
We live in Cos Cob and have been here for almost five years. We moved to Greenwich from Upper East Side in New York City in 2011. I have three lovely daughters. Natalia, age 10, Klara age 8 and Maya who will turn 6 at the end of April.
When I shop for my kids clothes I go to Zara and J.Crew. I used to shop a lot in Gap but since they closed down their store on the Avenue I don’t buy from them unless I have some extra time to go to the Westchester Mall. I get most of my girls shoes online from Stride Rite or Geox. Locally I shop at Little Eric’s and Zara kids. Our furniture is from Pottery Barn Kids and Land of Nod.
During the winter I love the Junior League’s Enchanted Forest and the Cos Cob tree lighting event. In the spring time my family enjoy going to the Cos Cob School May Fair and during the summer time we love to watch the 4th of July fireworks at Tod’s Point Park.
If we go out as a family we mainly go to Pizza Post in Cos Cob. As a couple we love going to Le Penguin, Char, Mumbai Times and Famous Greek Kitchen.
My girls love to cook and bake. I recently bought for them a book called “Cooking Class” by Deanna F.Cook. They really like it and enjoy creating new food ideas. My kids like to eat macaroni and cheese, pizza, chicken cutlets and grilled cheese sandwiches. They also eat lots of fruit and vegetables.
I love to paint and this is my main hobby, I am a self taught artist although my degree is in Marketing. I mainly paint abstracts and my most favorite subjects are nature, people and Angels. In a world that is moving faster than we can keep up with, it is very important to find time to slow down and relax. My relaxing time is for sure when I create a new painting. Creating commission artwork is not easy however, it is very rewarding. I love seeing my clients smiling faces and the way they fall in love with their new painting.
