Meet Jaimie! | Greenwich Moms

Jaimie: I was born and raised in Greenwich and moved back 4 years ago with my husband and family. I have lived several other places throughout my life but I am happy to be back in the town I love. We moved back to be close to my parents who live a mile away and I fell in love with the town all over again. It’s an amazing place to raise children.  My son goes to the same elementary school that I went to. It’s pretty special.
I have three children. My son Ethan is 6, my daughter Riley is 4 and my baby Reece is 15 months. My kids amaze me everyday. They have big personalities and keep us on our toes and cracking up.  I grew up with three children in my family and always hoped to have a bigger family myself and it is crazy and wonderful all at the same time. I like to call our situation beautiful chaos – it’s the best way to describe our lives right now.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
People always seem to be surprised when I tell them I went skydiving over the Swiss Alps when I was studying abroad in college. I’m not sure what that says about me that people are so surprised (perhaps I don’t come off as the adventurous type) but it was an incredible experience and it was something that I will never forget.  I definitely pushed myself out of my comfort zone in that situation and tried something that was quite terrifying but also exhilarating and I think it speaks to how I approach many situations in my life today. I try not to let fear hold me back and I try to embrace new experiences even if it might be hard or challenging.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I think I should start with my husband. I certainly don’t give him enough credit in this crazy hazy juggle of life we are in right now.  He is so devoted and loving to his children and although things get hard and exhausting at times we are a very good team. My parents have been a huge support system for me my entire life. Not only do they help guide me through big decisions and small but they have also been incredible role models as parents and are now amazing grandparents to my children. My Mom has been an inspiration for me as a mom and business woman. She has an incredible work ethic and managed to balance work and parenthood much to my amazement. My in-laws are so supportive and loving and always there for us and our kids and we are blessed to live close them as well. And last but not least the tribe of moms and friends who provide support and guidance and a laugh or cry when needed.  I lean on my friends from all walks of life everyday and I have met so many strong, smart and impressive friends here in Greenwich who help me navigate through this crazy world of parenting.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
We love heading to the beach as a family and we are the type of people that could stay all day long until we get kicked out. Of course we love Tod’s but we also visit Montauk and Long Beach Island every summer. I really love the little day trips and adventures we take as a family whether to the zoo or park or shows, etc. Just being together as a family getting to know each other or listening to the kids interact in the car is so much fun.  Exhausting but fun!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I recently left my job as a producer/director at A+E Networks after 12 years to start my own production company Good Vibes Productions.  It was a very big decision for me and a big change and I have always dreamed of going out on my own.  The universe was definitely telling me it was time. Good Vibes produces all type of video content but we are focusing on providing marketing and social media videos to local businesses in the area. Right now I am working on an animated explainer video for a hedge fund and I’m creating some marketing videos for local dentists (aka my mom and brother).  I pride myself on being a very strong storyteller and have had the opportunity to interview many different people throughout my career. It has been an honor to help tell their story through video.  Video marketing is a top platform right now for businesses to get their story out there and engage customers and my mission is to help people realize the potential of using video to tell their story.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Starting your own business is not easy and I am learning as I go but it has been so empowering and educational to go through this process and talk to so many talented, intelligent people in the community…especially moms. It feels like I have had a cheering section behind me encouraging me and helping me through.  It helps to be a Greenwich native and to have some built in connections already as well and I have found that everyone I talk to wants to help and connect me to someone they know. Moving back here I have realized what a great town this is and what a strong community we have here. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to raise my kids here and I’m excited to see what the future has in store.
Time-Saving Tips?
I’ve been trying to plan out the week better. From activities to play dates to my own work out classes and scheduling work time to what we are having for dinner. With three kids and starting a new business it’s a constant juggle and once the week starts it feels like we are off to the races so I try and use my icalendar to schedule as much as I can and I share the family calendar with my husband so we both know what is going on and can save dates, etc. I am still working on getting more organized but this has been a huge tool for me to save time and sanity.
