#itsallgood Tales and Tips from Roe Chlala at Festivities | Greenwich Moms

May makes us so happy! Everywhere I turn all the trees are in full bloom. And although I love the blooms, I am not sad when they turn to green because it just means that summer is almost here!
May is also a month that makes many people feel even more rushed than usual… School is ending, summer plans are being made, the garden needs tending, and we all want our homes and outdoor areas to be ready for the season’s entertaining.
In the midst of all that, I don’t want to make your life even crazier. However, May is also the month when traditions of celebrations can put a special smile on our faces and create memories that last and last.

Let’s Party!!!

Celebrating a job well done! From pre-school graduation, to the close of a school year and the beginning of vacation, celebrating life’s transition moments can become a fun, heart felt family tradition.

A quick “HOW TO”
1/ Have fun!!
2/ Pick a color scheme that makes you and your child (of any age) happy!! I really loved the primary colors here because they are fun and neutral!! But if she loves purple and he loves orange.. go for it!!
I chose two coordinating wrapping papers that would set the tone my table. Then I chose the water “guns” and balloons for my coordinating colors.
3/ Do I LOVE finger paint!!… and these Crayola finger-paints were so washable and easy to use!
I just poured a bit onto a paper plate and spread them with a brush.
You can let the children do hand prints, or if older, they can make their own design. Get your fingers full of paint- a new way to do body art!! Be sure to let the colors dry between handprints or color selections.
4/ Food- F&E (fun and easy) is the way to fly!
Grilled Cheese is universal and cut outs with cookie cutters go a long way in making the party special. The tator tots go into the cupcake holder. Little hands can easily handle this!
I chose the orange-cream soda because it reminded me of my days at the beach and a creamsicle treat! Add a straw in your party colors/ a little double stick tape and glittery stars from the craft store. Everyone’s a star!
The bottom line: I remember my daughter’s “graduation” from pre-school. We had the class over for a picnic with special foods and decorations. She wore a pair of white shorts and a pink and white top. Why do I remember? I remember the day because I took the time to make the moment special!
So now we have created a special day for others. Now for us and our friends!
A French Kiss Margarita- sweet & sassy!!!
Recipe – for a pitcher of yumminess!
2 cups passion fruit nectar (or mango or peach)
2 cups cranberry juice
½ cup tequila
1 bunch basil
2 jalapeno peppers
Club soda
Directions:
Pour juices into pitcher/Add Tequila
Pour into martini glasses over ice
Add a touch of club soda (did you know that was a measure!) to add fizz
Fold basil into tight roll and cut a fine julienne (skinny) and add a bit to the glass
Thinly slice jalapeno and add one slice
You will be sweet (but not too) and a lot sassy!!
